2014-2015 RSO Kickoff & Allocation Training

The 2014 "upROAR" RSO Kickoff will be held on Saturday, August 23 at the University of North Alabama, Guillot University Center. Each Recognized Student Organization (RSO) is required to send at least three (3) members to the event. The president and treasurer are expected to attend while the third representative can be any member of your organization. You may also send up to two (2) extra participants at $10 each to cover partial expenses. Each RSO will receive Five (5) Lions Cup Points for participating in this mandatory event. This kickoff will provide your organization with all of the tools and knowledge to host events, increase involvement on campus and much more! Lunch will be provided for all participants.

Organizations must have a representative at the Kickoff in order to be eligible to receive allocation funding for the 2014/2015 academic year. This is the only student allocation training that will be held, so it is very important that your group attend if they plan to utilize student allocation funding for programs/travel. Only those individuals that attend the Kickoff will be able to apply for allocations for their select organization.  Please plan to bring a (charged) laptop, iPad or other device so you can follow along and begin your allocation request at the event. Only one device per group is necessary.

Registration forms and payment for extra representatives are due by Friday, August 15th at 4:00 p.m. Forms are available on the Student Engagement website (www.una.edu/student-engagement) under the "forms" tab or can be found using this link: RSO KICKOFF REGISTRATION. Payment for extra representatives may be done by check or cash (checks need to be made out to “UNA” with “2014 RSO Kickoff” in the memo line) and sent to the attention of Bethany Oliver, UNA Box 5033. Should there be extenuating circumstances where your organization cannot attend, you must put it in writing and turn it in by the deadline for registration (Friday, August 15th by 4 p.m.).

11:00am-1:00pm- Lunch & Guest Speaker
1:00pm-2:00pm- Allocation Training

The Office of Student Engagement provides a Leadership Resource Room located in our office for RSOs that houses the following for FREE:

  • Window Painting Reservations, Window Paints and Cleaning Supplies
  • Sidewalk Chalk Reservations and Sidewalk Chalk

  • Banner Paper and Banner Paints
  • Toolboxes (4) with a variety of tools (must check out)

  • A PC and Mac with printers for RSO business (agendas, minutes, etc)
